Appointments

Our practice is mostly a referral practice. We accept patients that have been referred by other physicians. For this reason we ask that once your doctor has referred you that they send over your test results prior to your appointment. Your appointment will be given to you based on your diagnosis, so please describe your needs to our staff so that an appropriate length of time can be reserved for you. We attempt to schedule appointments to accommodate our patients needs. Patients diagnosed with cancer will be seen within a week.

After Hours Care

You will always speak to a live person when you call. After hours you can still call the same number and our service will take your information and forward calls to the doctor. For non-emergency calls, please call during normal business hours.

Prescription Renewals

Please call during normal business hours with your request or questions. Keep in mind that the doctor is the only one authorized to refill your prescription, and often times is in surgery. Therefore, try to call for a refill a few days prior to taking your last dose. Please make sure to complete and update your pharmacy information in our system. Our prescriptions are electronically faxed to the pharmacy.

Financial

Our fees are based on the usual and customary professional fees for gynecologic oncology in the South Florida area. Please understand that payment of your bill is considered part of your treatment. The following is a statement of our Financial Policy, which we require for you to read and sign the Financial Policy form prior to any treatment.

All COPAYMENTS AND DEDUCTIBLES ARE DUE AT YOUR VISIT

Insurance: Please be advised that it is the patient’s responsibility to verify that we are a participating provider of your insurance plan. We will bill your insurance company as a courtesy to you. If we have any difficulty obtaining payment from your insurance company, we may need your assistance in getting your claim paid.

HMO/Referrals: It is the your responsibility to obtain a referral from your primary care physician if your insurance carrier requires it for your visits. It is the patients’ responsibility to understand the requirements of their insurance plan. Our office is not responsible to obtain referrals for the patients on HMO plan. If you arrive without a referral for your visit and are require to bring one, your appointment will be rescheduled.

Minor Patients: The parent or guardian accompanying the minor is responsible for payment of the bill. Patients under age 18 need to be accompanied by a Parent/Guardian. Consent for examination must be signed by Parent/Guardian.

Non-Covered Services: You will be responsible for payment of services not covered by your insurance plan. It is your responsibility to understand your insurance plan’s benefits and/or limitations.

Collections: Should your account become a collection problem, the patient/debtor assumes all costs of collection including but not limited to collection agency fees, court costs, interest and legal fees. All unpaid accounts will be reported to the credit bureau.
